The present day government building, built 1751 – 52 by Johannes Grubenmann for Colonel Andreas von Salis-Soglio. Massive four-storey building beneath a hipped roof with lucarne-like gable on the south side. The portal-framed with pillars and a stone balcony accentuate the narrow side of the building toward the Reichsgasse. On the first floor, a wood-panelled room. In the corridors and the rooms of the 2nd floor are stucco decorations. A large two-storey room with a vaulted ceiling - richly decorated in stucco and Venetian chandelier; magnificent room with painted wood panels - landscapes on a background of silver-leaf surrounded by translucent green.
